Cliff Baard
Born in 1954, Cliff Baard had no formal training but showed an early talent for drawing and painting. He moved with his parents from the Transvaal to the Cape at the age of ten and was enrolled at Somerset House Preparatory School, Somerset West. His aim is to paint the spirit of nature with sensation and different tonal values that expresses a unified overall harmony in his landscapes, not merely revealing the beauty of the scene but inviting the viewer to discover something new on every viewing.
