Mary Visser
Mary is an urban and industrial landscape painter working mostly in oil and enamel.
For the past few years, she has been primarily concerned with paintings of Cape Town harbour. She is attracted to the strong geometry of the cranes, bright shipping containers and cargo ships and their contrast to the shifting sea. "The particular weather conditions and their effect on the harbour structures often become a metaphor for a state of mind; reflecting an internal landscape."
