Jill Colley

Jill began to explore her artistic abilities in 1992, starting with drawing and pastel classes given by Lesley Charnock and then Sheri Hornsy. These were followed by tuition in oil painting at the Artists’ Co-Op in Observatory with George Taylor-Botha and finally Ryno Swart, and also painting holidays in Venice and rural France. After experiencing the excitement of mixing buttery oil colours on the palette and the aromas of paint and turps she chose to stay with this medium, also preferring the permanence of oil on canvas.
