Kelly was born in Cape Town, South Africa where she has lived all her life. She matriculated at Star of the Sea Convent, St James with art as a subject. She has participated in courses in Fashion illustration, Children’s Book Illustration & Journal Illustration. She recently studied at Silwood School of Cookery at the age of 58 and holds Certificates as a Patisserie and Cordon Bleu Chef.
Her preferred medium is technical pen and watercolour and her illustrative work is influenced Raoul Dufy and Quentin Blake amongst others.
